I collaborated closely with manufacturing, quality, technical, and engineering to deliver high-quality CAPA and deviation support.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Deviation Investigation: RCAs, Risk Analysis and FMEAs

    • Implemented improvements to deviation report format

    • RCA investigation, deviation reports, risk assessments, and FMEAs

    • Work collaboratively with QA, Micro, QC and Technical to ensure timely closure of deviations

  • Process mapping: IT systems and production processes

  • CAPA closure and implementation: successful closure of 50 CAPA over the previous 6-months

  • Implementation and management of change controls

Infectious Disease Insights Analyst

As a business intelligence analyst within GlobalData's infectious disease team, I researched and produced both syndicated and bespoke reports that provided competitive insight into disease and treatment landscapes across multiple infectious disease indications (HIV, HBV, GvHD, and bacterial infections)

Operational Quality

Working within a matrix environment across quality and operations, I managed decontamination efforts within a primary fermentation facility and compliance activities within their secondary tablet manufacturing facility.

Primary Fermentation

I led microbiology and penicillin deviations within the multipurpose manufacturing plant during the facilities decontamination efforts. I also led efforts in designing a new workflow and facility design that would minimise the risk of environmental contamination.

Working across Granulation, Compression and Packaging, I provided quality support to the manufacturing teams

Account Management

In 2016, Laboratory equipment maker IKA launched their first UK subsidiary to establish director customer sales. As an account manager, I built customer relationships across my territory, offering product support and tender offers to supply.

 

During this time I successfully led the logistical planning of IKA's first exhibition at the Lab Innovations.

Aerosol Science

As part of Philips Healthcare's aerosol science team, I worked on the development of the Innospire Go, testing and evaluating different designs as well as producing data and reports for FDA 510 (K) submission.

2010 - 2014

University of St Andrews

Working with marine-derived actinomycetes to identify and screen new antibiotic candidates, I produce halogenated analogues and used genome mining techniques to help elucidate biosynthetic pathways. 

​

I also developed an innovative and impactful method of photo-protecting and extracting the light-sensitive anticancer antibiotic Marinomycin, using pollen exines. The striking stabilization conferred was disseminated through the international media (The Times and BBC World Service) and affords great potential for stabilizing other potential medicines
